Mediterranean Restaurant: Case Study | Zolley

Guests who walk in asking for the promotion.

Our client is a Mediterranean restaurant with a dining room, a bar and a private-events business. The food and the room were never the problem. What it lacked was a way to reach guests between visits, a steady stream of reviews, and one place to catch every reservation and event request. We built all three.

Before

A full room, and no way to reach it once the check was paid.

A restaurant’s best marketing walks out of the door every night. Guests who loved dinner had no reason to hear from the restaurant again until they happened to think of it. Reviews arrived only when someone remembered to leave one, and every event inquiry landed wherever the guest happened to send it.

  • No way to reach past guests between visits
  • Reviews left to chance
  • Event and reservation requests spread across every channel
What changed first
We’ve been able to reach out to our customers in a way we’ve never done before.

What we built

Five pieces, each one aimed at the next visit.

A restaurant doesn’t need a sales funnel. It needs guests to come back, to tell other people, and to book the room for the party. Everything we built points at one of those three.

01

A website that takes the booking

Reservations and private-event inquiries go straight from the website, at whatever hour the guest is planning. Nobody has to catch the phone, and nobody has to call back to ask what the party needs.

  • Reservations from any page
  • A private-events inquiry that asks the right questions up front
  • Menus and specials kept current by us

02

Event inquiries that follow themselves up

Every event request is tracked from the moment it arrives. The guest hears back right away, the team is prompted to follow up, and nothing waits on someone remembering a sticky note.

It saved us a lot of time and it helped us close a lot of events.

03

Reviews that ask for themselves

After a visit, guests are asked how it went, automatically, while the meal is still fresh in their mind. Every review is watched, so the restaurant sees what people are saying and can answer it.

Sometimes you just need to ask people to leave you a review and they will.

04

Ads that bring people through the door

Promotions, daily specials and bar specials, shown to locals while they are deciding where to go tonight. When a guest walks in asking for the offer, the restaurant knows exactly which ad did its job.

  • A rotating set of promotions, not one tired ad
  • Bar specials pushed when the bar needs them
  • Feedback at the door, not only in a report

05

One inbox for every message

Texts, emails, social messages and website chat land in one place, so the owner or the host can answer any of them. Common questions get an instant reply in the restaurant’s own words, from answers the restaurant chose and approved.

You’re able to train the system to the answers that you want to give to the customers.

What changed

What changed, in the owner’s words.

Time back, events booked
It saved us a lot of time and it helped us close a lot of events.
Ads that show up at the door
It’s nice to see people walking in asking for the promotion that we are advertising because it gives us a feedback on, you know, what’s been done as far as marketing.
Reviews
Of course, it all starts with having a good experience here at the business but ultimately being able to have the review and to monitor what kind of review they leave it’s turning out to be very important for us.
One place for every request
So it’s been a very important tool that we never had before.
